|Important Update: New DBS ID Checking Guidance
Following a 12-month consultation and pilot phase, the DBS has released new guidance for both standard/enhanced and basic check applications.
Social media is a significant part of many people’s lives, used to share their thoughts and actions. Sometimes, these may not reflect your organisation’s values and could pose a risk to others. Checking candidates’ social media can reduce reputational damage or safeguarding issues. These tools ensure candidates are safe to work in your organisation.
Our social media screening technology has been designed to ensure a fast, reliable, and thorough service. Once the candidate has completed the consent process, a report can be generated in as little as 10 minutes.
By automating the process, unconscious bias is removed completely. The algorithm will search comments, photos and posts and will flag anything that is deemed a potential concern whilst ensuring the candidate’s protected characteristics are not taken into consideration.
Get in touch today to discover how our efficient, cost-effective checks can support your vetting process and budget.
We understand that organisations will have different requirements and volumes on candidate vetting. Whether you check one candidate a month or 1,000 candidates a month, our solution provides scalable reports to ensure you can meet your safeguarding requirements.
Our solution empowers you to ensure that your safeguarding goals are met with efficiency, accuracy and reliability all whilst adhering to strict UK GDPR guidelines.
Conducting social media checks requires a responsible and ethical approach. Our services are fully compliant with GDPR regulations as well as being ISO 27001 compliant (High Standard of Cyber Security and Data Protection) and Cyber Essentials assurance.
We ensure that during each check, the candidate provides explicit consent to the check, and we only conduct checks on publicly available information to ensure that the candidates private information and conversations are not viewable. We also ensure that accounts are connected using oAuth. This technology allows the candidate to share their account without disclosing any password or sensitive information.
We check publicly available information from a range of popular social media platforms, such as Facebook, X, Instagram, Tumblr, Flickr and Medium.
We respect your privacy and ensure that we only review information that is publicly accessible. All checks are conducted in compliance with UK GDPR, ensuring that personal data is handled responsibly.
When your account is setup, you’ll receive a URL and code which can be given to candidates to initiate the check. The candidate will receive an email requesting consent. Once the consent is provided, the platform will ask the candidate to connect to their social media accounts – this is done using o-Auth (a common technology that allows platforms to connect without disclosing sensitive information such as passwords). Once connected, the platform will review all public posts and comments and produce a report.
No, we only check publicly available information. We do not access or review private accounts, posts, messages, or content that is restricted by privacy settings.
No, once the check is completed the access is terminated as the access is one time only per check request.
