ID verification is essential in employment vetting for several reasons: Aside from ID verification, it is also a legal obligation, it ensures the person being hired is who they say they are, reducing the risk of hiring someone with a false identity that is trying to fraudulently gain access. It helps keep sensitive information safe from unauthorised access and ensures a safe work environment, especially in sectors with vulnerable populations or sensitive areas.

Bank-verified ID service enables customers to use personal information already held by their bank to prove who they are to access online services outside of the banking domain. The bank acts as an ‘identity provider’; it verifies the identity of the person from its own databases and, in accordance with its own policies and FCA requirements, then confirms the customer’s identity to another party. Banks have a very strong interest in ensuring that only authenticated users can access their accounts online, so the identity verification is of a higher standard than can be achieved by any other means.
There are three main types of DBS checks:
e-Bulk, or electronic Bulk, is a system used primarily in the UK for the electronic submission of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks on behalf of registered bodies (RB’s). It allows RB’s to submit multiple DBS check applications in bulk, rather than individually, which can save time and streamline the process. This system is particularly useful for large RB’s that need to process a high volume of checks.
