Following a 12-month consultation and pilot phase, the DBS has released new guidance for both standard/enhanced and basic check applications.

We provide flexibility within the platform for ID verifications, so if you wanted to manually verify a candidate ID in house, you can, alternatively if you wanted to increase efficiency with the open-banking ID check you can.
Our team comprises of over 25 years’ worth of DBS experience and countersign each individual application to ensure there are no errors and that the check won’t be declined by the DBS. Following this, ensures that there is no time wasted with repeating applications. If an issue is identified at this stage, our team would provide a reason why and return the check so that you can easily make the changes needed and resubmit.
DBS checks are typically required for individuals working in roles involving children, vulnerable adults, or sensitive positions, such as teachers, healthcare professionals, or care workers.
There are three main types of DBS checks:
The time it takes to process a DBS check varies, but it usually takes between 1 and 14 days. Enhanced checks may take longer due to additional local police searches.
The cost is made up to two parts – the certificate charge and the administration charge. The certificate charge is a charge from the DBS for producing the search and certificate and varies dependant on the check type. The pricing recently changed on the 2nd December 2024 and is current set at:
The administration charge is charged per application, and this is charged by us directly to cover the work involved in creating and submitting a DBS check. The pricing is based on volume when you contact us to setup an account.
You can only apply for a Basic DBS check yourself. Standard and Enhanced DBS checks must be applied for by an employer or organisation as ID verification cannot be done by the same person that the application is for.
